About the Role

We are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to join the Finance Team in our Geraldton office. Although the preference is for a full-time position, consideration will be given to high-quality part-time candidates that may meet our requirements.

You will be actively engaged in the weekly payroll process, which involves payments to a significant number of employees based around our various sites. Requiring exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills, you will be directly involved in this busy and important function. Reporting to Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

- Manual processing of all labour timesheets on a weekly basis,



requiring timesheets to be interpreted and entered as per the Enterprise Agreement (EA)
- Ensuring payroll queries are handled in a courteous and timely manner via phone and email
- Maintaining the computerised filing system
- Processing of leave forms
- Maintenance of employee records
- Effective management of the payroll email inbox

Essential Criteria

- Minimum of three years’ experience in a payroll function, in a medium to large sized business
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Oversight of payroll compliance

- Strong literacy in the Microsoft suite of products – Excel, Word and Outlook
- Highly organised manner with excellent time management and attention to detail
- High level of initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be dynamic, flexible, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Robust interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
- A strong interest and passion in a growth industry.
- A willingness to work collaboratively within a team and across other departments
- Ability to work additional hours when required
