ABOUT THE ROLE
Eilbeck Cranes Perth is seeking an experienced Floor Borer Operator / CNC Machinist to join our growing heavy machining team. This is a excellent opportunity to work in a brand-new machine shop with modern CNC machinery, machining large and complex components for the heavy engineering industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating large CNC floor boring machines, working from engineering drawings to produce components to the required specifications and tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC floor boring machines.
- Machine large fabricated and heavy engineering components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and machining requirements.
- Plan machine set-ups, tooling and machining sequences.
- Carry out in-process dimensional inspections.
- Work independently while coordinating with the supervisor and wider machining team.
- Maintain a high standard of quality, machine care and workplace safety.
ABOUT YOU
- Previous floor boring or horizontal boring experience is preferred.
- Experience with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls is preferred but not mandatory.
- Training on the machine and control will be provided.
- Mastercam experience would be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling and cutting parameters.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Experience setting up and machining large components would be highly regarded.
- Ability to work independently and confidently troubleshoot machining and set-up issues.
