Join our team as a Maintenance Supervisor, where you will lead Electrical Shutdown teams, Technical Officers, in planning and executing shutdown maintenance activities while ensuring consistent application of asset management processes. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and safety of our assets.
Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant Maintenance, you will manage and supervise Electrical Shutdown teams, Technical Officers, in maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. You will allocate maintenance coverage for shutdowns and resolve on-the-job issues related to planned maintenance activities and shutdowns. Additionally, you will monitor working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure the safety of employees working in the area.
What you will bring
- Ability to effectively lead and manage a team of Maintenance tradespersons and professionals
- Proficiency in overseeing maintenance activities and ensuring that asset management processes are consistently applied to maintain the reliability and safety of assets
- Understanding of asset management principles and practices, including optimization, forecasting, lifecycle management, and risk mitigation
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing adherence to safety procedures and regulations
- Capacity to address on-the-job issues promptly and efficiently
- Clear and effective communication abilities to liaise with team members, management, and other stakeholders
- Skill in organizing maintenance schedules, allocating resources,
and prioritizing tasks to meet operational requirements
- Dedication to maintaining high standards and quality in all maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and longevity of assets
- Trade qualification (preferably Electrical) - highly regarded

Where you will be working
Our Weipa Operations includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, ship loaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network, and ferry terminals. Located on the Western Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, each year the operation produces more than 35 million tons of bauxite.
Our operations are supported by a 1,900-robust workforce-including 26 per cent who are women and 25 per cent Indigenous employees. Activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, ports, cultural heritage management, and processing facility management.
The development of our new mine, Amrun, which was completed in 2018, will extend the life of our Weipa bauxite operations by decades to come and significantly build on our 55-year history on the Western Cape.
