About the Role
As a Crew Member in the Parks team, you will play an important role in maintaining and enhancing the City's parks, reserves and landscape assets. Working under the direction of the Coordinator and Supervisor, you will undertake a range of horticultural and park maintenance activities including planting, mulching, pruning, edging, weeding and mowing.
You will also participate in job rotation across the Parks Services team, contributing to a flexible and multi-skilled workforce that delivers high-quality outcomes for our community. This is a physically active, outdoor role that requires a strong commitment to safety,
quality workmanship and customer service.
What we’re Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and members of the public
- Proven ability to complete work to required standards within agreed timeframes
- Robust commitment to workplace health and safety procedures and practices
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Experience operating and maintaining parks equipment including chainsaws, pedestrian mowers, ride-on mowers, hedgers, edgers and whipper snippers
- Knowledge of horticultural and turf management practices (horticultural qualifications highly regarded)
- Basic computer/IT skills, with the ability to learn new technology as required
- Relevant certificates, training or demonstrated industry capability
- Current WA Driver’s Licence (MR Class Licence highly regarded)
