GBG Concrete & Construction — a proud family-owned Pre-cast Concrete & Construction Gippsland business with over 70 years of history — is seeking an experienced Pre-cast Shop Detailer to join our team with headquarters in Sale, Gippsland.

This is a key role supporting project and production teams by preparing clear, accurate shop drawings and technical documentation that help projects move from design through to construction.

This role offers flexible working arrangements and can be based onsite in Sale, fully remote, or a combination of both under a hybrid arrangement.

About the Role

Working with Project Managers, Estimators, Engineers and production teams, you will convert architectural, engineering and project information into detailed technical drawings and shop details.

You will identify technical queries, design issues and constructability concerns early with ensuring drawings remain accurate, current and practical for production and construction.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed drawings, shop drawings, sketches, layouts and technical plans using CAD, Tekla or similar 3D modelling software

- Review and interpret architectural, engineering, project and contract documentation

- Liaise with Project Managers, Estimators, Architects, Engineers and other stakeholders to clarify requirements

- Identify drafting, design, production and constructability issues and raise technical queries early

- Calculate dimensions, material requirements,



weight limitations and other relevant technical details

- Revise and update drawings, maintaining accurate drawing registers, project records, and approvals

- Provide timely drawing interpretation and technical support to project and production teamsKey Skills & Attributes

- Understanding of construction methodologies and cost estimation principles

- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

- Effective communication and negotiation skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Proficiency in relevant estimation and project management software (Microsoft suite, Auto CAD)

- Experience with Cubit estimating software and Workbench project management software, while not essential, would be highly regarded

- Excellent communication skills and a robust team player

About You

We’re looking for an experienced drafting professional who combines technical capability with strong attention to detail and a practical understanding of Pre-cast Concrete construction and building processes.

You’ll bring:

- Previous experience in Pre-cast Shop Detailing with experience in – Wall panels for commercial and industrial buildings, Retaining Walls, Barriers, Headstocks,



Beams & Planks

- Demonstrated experience using 3D modelling software

- Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering and technical drawings and specifications

- Sound understanding of construction, engineering or manufacturing processes

- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to drawing accuracy and quality

- Strong organisational, document-management and revision-control skills

- Clear written and verbal communication skills and confidence working with varied stakeholders

- Experience working within an ISO-certified or ISO-aligned environment

- Experience in concrete construction, precast, civil or building projects and a relevant drafting, engineering, construction or design qualification will be highly regarded

The positions have the following essential requirements:

- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa

- Satisfactory completion of two professional reference checks

- Applicants must successfully pass a Police/Background Check and may be required to undertake a Medical/Drug Test as part of the recruitment process

- Applicants will be subject to a probation period of six months
