The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action is seeking an Inventory Analyst to support the statewide management of critical inventory, assets and logistics that help keep Forest Fire Management Victoria ready for fire and emergency operations.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a purpose-driven team that plays a vital role in supporting communities, emergency response capability and the safe management of Victoria’s public land. You will work in an engaging and cooperative environment where your analysis, reporting and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to better stock availability, stronger inventory governance and improved value for money.

In this role, you will analyse demand, consumption and performance data for a business unit; develop practical reports and dashboards; identify opportunities to reduce stock-outs, excess holdings and obsolete inventory; and support improvements to inventory systems, processes and decision-making. You will work closely with warehouse teams, asset managers, regional staff and operational partners to ensure inventory settings are practical, reliable and aligned to business needs.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, experience working with complex data sets, and the ability to translate information into clear insights and practical recommendations. Experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory management, business intelligence or related fields will be highly regarded.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

- Relevant qualification in supply chain, logistics, business, finance, analytics, or related discipline is required




- Proven experience in the development of Business Intelligence dashboards
- Experience in the interpretation and analysis of complex data sets
- Forklift licence (LF) and/or willingness to obtain if required.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Kyle Road, Altona North with hybrid work arrangements available.
