Lead procurement that helps keep Victoria ready Are you a collaborative procurement leader who enjoys working with operational teams, suppliers and senior stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes? This is an opportunity to lead procurement for a high-profile public sector environment where your work directly supports Forest Fire Management Victoria and broader emergency management readiness across the state.

As Manager – Group Procurement, you will lead a specialist team that provides procurement leadership, assurance and advice across Bushfire and Forest Services. You will guide complex and high-value sourcing activity, strengthen procurement governance, support commercial decision-making and help ensure the right goods, services and supplier arrangements are in place when they are needed most.

About the role You will work closely with operational leaders, technical experts, regional teams, commercial partners and suppliers to deliver procurement outcomes that are compliant, value-focused and fit for purpose. The role has a strong focus on collaboration, judgement and practical problem solving. You will help shape procurement approaches for areas such as fleet, plant, logistics, inventory, capital works and emergency management support, while also building procurement capability across the group. This is a role for someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, bring people together around shared outcomes and provide clear, trusted advice in a complex operating environment.

What you’ll bring We are looking for someone who can: lead complex procurement activity from planning through to contract award. Provide clear, practical and authoritative procurement advice, build trusted relationships with operational, technical and corporate stakeholders, coach and support a capable procurement team strengthen governance, probity, compliance and assurance, use commercial judgement to deliver value for money, work calmly and constructively in a busy, operational environment,



support procurement needs during emergency management and surge activity.

Experience in Victorian Government procurement, complex sourcing, contract establishment and stakeholder management will be highly regarded. Relevant tertiary qualifications or professional procurement accreditation, such as CIPS or equivalent, are desirable.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

- Tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, commerce, business, law or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, is desirable.
- Professional accreditation in procurement or contract management, such as CIPS or equivalent, is desirable.
- Demonstrated senior procurement leadership experience, including delivery of complex procurement activity within the Victorian Government environment.
- Proven experience leading procurement teams and managing procurement activities across the full lifecycle.
- Proven experience managing complex commercial relationships over a sustained period of time




- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Victoria are required; a forklift licence may be required.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Kyle Road, Altona North with hybrid work arrangements available.
