About the role

Wilson Survey Group has been operating in Central Queensland since its establishment in 1998. The base office is located in Emerald.

Our company works on numerous projects ranging from mining exploration, civil construction, total station, laser scanning and drone surveys where applicable.

Wilson Survey Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Surveyor to join our growing team in Emerald, Queensland.

What you'll be doing

- Conducting various surveys using surveying equipment and software (Leica, Laser Scanning, Drones)

- Open cut mining and civil surveys - end-of-month pick-up, exploration, drone surveys, stockpile surveys, rehabilitation surveys, civil construction surveys (concrete, conveyor belt set out, bolts, etc).

- Liaising with clients, contractors and regulatory authorities to ensure survey work is completed to the required standards

- Providing technical advice and recommendations to project teams on surveying matters

- Maintaining vehicle and survey equipment and ensuring all procedures comply with relevant safety and quality standards

- Adhere to safety policies and procedures of the individual projects

- Complete all inductions,



medicals and drug/alcohol testing

- Mentoring and supporting junior survey staff to develop their skills and expertise

What we're looking for

- Tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science or equivalent

- Minimum 2 years of experience, ideally within the mining or resources sector

- Proficient in the use of survey equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers and data processing software

- Strong technical skills and the ability to interpret plans, drawings and survey data

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality survey outcomes

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a quick-paced environment

- Current driver's license and drone license

Wilson Survey Group offers a competitive salary, with this role being full time (roster may change dependent on project - ie: 8 on 6 off ; 7 on 7 off; 5 on 2 off)
