We are seeking an experienced Ugly Freight Forklift Operator to join our busy steel manufacturing yard. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-focused operator with proven experience handling oversized and awkward steel loads using high-capacity forklifts.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a 16-tonne forklift in a steel manufacturing and distribution setting.
Load, unload, and transport oversized, awkward, and heavy steel products.
Handle ugly freight in accordance with secure work procedures.
Assist with yard operations, stock movement, and loading transport vehicles.
Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic forklift maintenance checks.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience operating a 16-tonne forklift.
Demonstrated experience handling ugly freight and oversized loads.
Current High Risk Work Licence (LF)
with experience on high-capacity forklifts.
Experience working in a steel manufacturing, steel processing, or heavy industrial yard.
Solid understanding of load restraint, protected lifting practices, and workplace safety.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Ability to meet pre-employment medical requirements if requested.
