The Chance

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a busy Finance team on a three-month temporary contract.

This role will see you responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing high-quality support to employees and managers. Working in a fast-paced workplace, you will ensure payroll compliance, maintain employee records and assist with payroll reporting and enquiries.

Key Responsibilities
Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
Maintain payroll records and employee data
Interpret relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements and legislation
Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and managers
Process leave, allowances and payroll adjustments
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with compliance activities




Support the Finance team with payroll-related reporting and administration
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy at all times

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience processing end-to-end payroll
Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation
Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements, ideally within Local Government or a similar environment
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and meet strict payroll deadlines
Experience using payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
Local Government payroll experience will be highly regarded
