LOCAL Geelong is a Café serving bread and viennoiserie products, in East Geelong. We are looking for a baker/pastry chef or apprentice with a passion for their craft to join our team.

We pride ourselves on creating and baking products from scratch daily uses the best local and seasonal ingredients we can get our hands on – organic flours, locally cultured butter, organic milk etc.

We bake on a small scale to allow us to be as hands on as possible. We pride ourselves on consistently providing a product of excellence. We do not use any packaged products or pre-mixes. With access to the best ingredients Australia has to offer, the chance to excel through hard work will reward the successful candidate.

We value flexibility and the desire to learn and participate as part of a team, offering a 4 day working week.

Job tasks & responsibilities:
Working to a production schedule preparing products as required included but not limited to; preparation of raw ingredients, weighing, mixing, dividing, shaping, and baking.




Finishing of products to a consistently high standard
General and cleaning duties required
Weekend Availability required
Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency
Working hours vary between 3am and 1pm

Skills & experience :
Past Bakery Experience is not a necessity but an advantage, We are open to commencing an Apprenticeship
An eye for detail with an appreciation for high quality ingredients and products
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work Autonomously and as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
Excellent food hygiene standards with an understanding of HACCP preferred
Excellent work ethic, punctual, a great attitude and passionate about your job

This is a Part Time / Full-time permanent position for the right candidate which will require flexibility. Only apply if you are available for required hours.
