Café Chef – Part time / Full-Time

TRU Coffee is looking for an experienced and reliable café chef to join our kitchen team. Part time to full-time hours are available, depending on the successful applicant’s availability.

This is a daytime position in a busy neighbourhood café, with a strong focus on quality food, consistency and efficient service.

Key responsibilities
Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items
Managing your section during busy services
Completing daily food preparation
Maintaining consistent portion sizes and presentation
Monitoring stock levels and minimising food waste
Following food-safety, labelling and temperature-control procedures
Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams

What we’re looking for
Previous experience as a chef or experienced cook in a busy café
Strong breakfast and brunch experience
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
Reliable, punctual and well organised




Strong communication and teamwork skills
Good understanding of food safety and kitchen cleanliness
Availability across weekdays and weekends
Relevant cookery qualifications are preferred
