The Project & Product Support Officer will work within a high-performing Defence project office environment, supporting project, product, governance, commercial, financial and reporting activities.
This is an onsite role based atAmberley QLD, with occasional support inBrisbane CBDand rare travel as required.
Core Purpose
The core purpose of this role is to provide effective project and product support to CASPO, helping ensure project milestones, governance obligations, financial activities, reporting requirements and stakeholder coordination activities are delivered accurately and on time.
The contractor will support project leadership, product management, sustainment planning, commercial administration and Defence Capability System activities.
Scope / Responsibilities
The Project & Product Support Officer will be expected to:
Support project, product and governance activities
Prepare project documentation, governance artefacts and reporting products
Coordinate activities to support achievement of project and product milestones
Build productive relationships with project teams, industry partners, capability managers and support organisations
Engage stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues and support delivery outcomes
Provide advice and coordination support to project and product leadership
Support commercial and financial management activities
Assist with contract administration, purchase order management and invoice processing
Support budget monitoring, financial reporting and procurement activities
Assist with forecasting, budgeting and cost estimate development
Support approved and unapproved project scope planning
Develop, maintain and coordinate project and product documentation
Support Integrated Project Management Plans, schedules, briefs, governance papers and reporting products
Support product management, support system and sustainment planning artefacts
Support submissions, reviews and committee activities under Defence Capability System requirements
Undertake project reporting using applicable Defence management systems and tools
Assist with risks, issues,



opportunities and dependencies
Support Fundamental Input to Capability integration activities
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across CASPO
Project documentation and governance artefacts
Integrated Project Management Plan inputs
Project schedules and coordination products

Mandatory / Essential Criteria
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
Product Management experience at Level 2, approximately 4–7 years
Program and Project Management experience at Level 2, approximately 4–7 years
Project Control experience at Level 2, approximately 4–7 years
Project Coordination experience at Level 2, approximately 4–7 years
Project Governance experience at Level 2, approximately 4–7 years
Project Reporting experience at Level 2, approximately 4–7 years
Project Risk and Issues Management experience at Level 2, approximately 4–7 years
Ability to prepare timely and accurate project documentation, governance artefacts and reporting products
Ability to support financial and commercial activities in accordance with Defence policies and governance requirements
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing work demands
ActiveNV1 security clearance
Ability to work onsite atAmberley QLD
Highly desirable experience may include:
Defence Capability experience at Level 2, approximately 4–7 years
Working knowledge of Defence governance, program management or commercial processes
Understanding of SPO business
Experience with CASG 2.0, ERP and DSR requirements
Experience supporting Defence Capability System submissions, reviews and committee activities
Experience supporting sustainment and support system cost information
Experience supporting product management and life-of-type management planning
Experience with CASPO, AIR**** or MQ-28 Ghost Bat environments

Rate Guidance
Azooa recommended winning range:$100–$135/hour including super
Azooa recommended value-for-money target:$100–$135/hour including super
Azooa recommends bidding within the$100–$135/hour including superrange where possible, based on current market conditions.
This will help position the submission more competitively and support a stronger value-for-money outcome.

Rate competitiveness generally works as follows:
$100–$115/hour including super:strongest value-for-money position and higher chance of winning
$116–$125/hour including super:competitive where supported by strong Defence project, governance, reporting and commercial support experience
$126–$135/hour including super:still within Azooa's recommended range, but should be supported by strong CASPO, AIR****, MQ-28 Ghost Bat, SPO, CASG, ERP, DSR, Defence Capability System or active NV1 experience
Above $135/hour including super:less competitive unless specialist CASPO, MQ-28 Ghost Bat, Defence capability, project governance, sustainment planning, financial / commercial support or active NV1 suitability strongly justifies the rate
Higher rates may still be considered where niche Defence capability, CASPO, MQ-28 Ghost Bat, project governance, sustainment planning, financial / commercial support or active NV1 suitability outweighs rate competitiveness.
