Our Scheduling Specialists provide customer service and administration of several language services including Auslan-English Interpreting, Deaf Interpreting, Live Captioning, note taking, transcription and translation services.
This is a customer facing role which interfaces with a broad range of clients including people who are Deaf and hard of hearing, Government services, private sector businesses, education institutions, Health service and community service providers.
The Scheduling Specialist - Interpreting is responsible for managing the allocation/rostering of the workforce and providing general information and day to day support.
This role operates in a team environment, in a highly demanding service area where problem-solving, resilience and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide professional and timely customer service by responding to inquiries from various sources.
Schedule and allocate language service bookings, considering client preferences, interpreter skills, and assignment types.
Keep clients informed about interpreter availability, offering alternatives when necessary.
Maintain accurate records in the customer management system and ensure proper onboarding of customers.
Adhere to contract compliance, protect client confidentiality, and seek support when facing resourcing or workforce challenges.
Preparing estimates and formal quotes in line with contracted rates and adhering to relevant travel policies.
About You - Skills, Qualifications and Experience
2+ years' experience in customer service and administration with experience in scheduling of rosters
Experience working in a fast paced and high-pressure environment
Positive attitude, resilient and flexible nature able to deal with a wide range of people and situations
Excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills
Ability to learn new software, particularly booking management system
Maintaining culturally diverse and inclusive workspaces whilst upholding our friendly and supportive company culture
Fluency in Auslan with lived experience or formal qualifications
Diploma of Auslan (highly desirable)
