The Role
BIC Consolidated is seeking an experienced
Maintenance Manager
to oversee the delivery of maintenance and facilities services across retail and commercial environments. This leadership role is ideal for a motivated professional with a minimum of three years' experience managing facilities and maintenance services within retail environments, particularly shopping centres or large commercial assets.
As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading operational teams and contractors, maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual and legislative requirements, managing budgets, and delivering safe, effective, and high-quality maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of maintenance and facilities services across retail or commercial assets.
Oversee planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance programs to ensure assets are maintained to a high standard.
Manage, mentor and support maintenance staff and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient and compliant services.
Build and maintain solid client, tenant, contractor and stakeholder relationships, ensuring timely communication and resolution of operational issues.




Coordinate contractor activities and monitor performance against service level agreements, contractual obligations and company standards.
Allocate resources, manage workforce planning and ensure appropriate staff coverage to meet operational requirements.
Monitor operational budgets, control expenditure and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost efficiencies and additional works.
Identify and prepare quotations for additional maintenance works and support business development opportunities.
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), environmental, legislative and company policies and procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections, identify hazards, investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where required.
Prepare operational reports, maintenance documentation and performance metrics for internal and client reporting.
Promote a positive safety culture while delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
To Be Considered for This Role, Applicants Must Have
A minimum of three years' experience managing facilities and maintenance services within retail environments, preferably shopping centres or large commercial assets.




Demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams, site personnel and subcontractors.
Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
Strong operational management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Experience managing operational budgets, contractor performance and service delivery outcomes.
Sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), compliance requirements and facilities maintenance best practices.
Experience coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance programs.
Ability to identify, scope and quote additional maintenance works.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
