The Role:
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, or an Associate-level Cost Planner looking for the right move, to take ownership of significant cost planning work within the Queensland team.
You will lead detailed cost planning and estimating across major building projects, working closely with clients and project stakeholders from the early stages of a project through design development and delivery.
The role requires someone who is technically solid, commercially astute and confident taking the reins on substantial cost plans. You will be comfortable interrogating design information, identifying cost drivers and providing clients with clear,
considered advice rather than simply producing the numbers. Your background will ideally include significant exposure to retail and broader building projects, with the capability to work across large, complex developments and established client accounts.
The Foundation for Success:
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Senior Cost Planner or Associate within an Australian cost consultancy
Strong cost planning and estimating capability across building projects
Demonstrated retail project experience, ideally including large-format or major retail developments
A background across commercial building rather than civil or infrastructure projects
Experience preparing and taking ownership of substantial cost plans
Strong understanding of construction methodology, design development and project cost drivers
The confidence to engage directly with clients, consultants and senior stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
A collaborative approach combined with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your work
You may already be operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level and looking for greater ownership and exposure, or you may be an Associate seeking a strong consultancy platform where technical capability and client relationships are genuinely valued.
