The Carpenter will support the construction, installation, renovation and repair of timber structures, doors, frames and associated fittings.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: • Study drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and appropriate installation procedures.
• Measure, cut, shape and prepare timber and other materials for installation.
• Install internal and external doors, frames, jambs, architraves and associated timber components.
• Fit door hardware including handles, locks, hinges and related functional components.
• Assemble prepared timber and manufactured components to form structures and fittings.
• Construct, erect and repair timber frameworks, fixtures and other carpentry structures.
• Select suitable timbers, materials and hardware according to project specifications and requirements.
• Prepare accurate layouts and confirm measurements before cutting, assembling or installing materials.
• Cut and form timber joints using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Inspect completed installations to verify alignment, trueness, functionality and quality standards.




• Repair or replace damaged doors, frames, fittings and existing timber components.
• Work with plywood, wallboard, laminates, metals and other materials where required.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
• Coordinate with customers and team members to complete installations efficiently and professionally.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, building requirements and established quality standards during carpentry activities.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: • Certificate III in Carpentry, an equivalent recognised qualification, or comparable trade training relevant to the position.
• At least one year of full-time practical carpentry experience within residential, commercial or similar construction environments.
• Demonstrated experience measuring, cutting, assembling and installing timber structures, doors, frames and associated fittings accurately.
• Solid ability to interpret drawings, specifications and measurements to determine materials, dimensions and installation procedures.
• Practical experience using carpentry hand tools and power tools safely, accurately and efficiently on site.
• Knowledge of door installation, hardware fitting, timber joinery, repairs and finishing techniques relevant to TradeOz projects.
• Ability to maintain high workmanship standards while completing installation and repair tasks within required project timeframes.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe practices applicable to carpentry and construction work.
