Your Employer Our client is a growing, family-owned grazing business operating across western Queensland, with a strong focus on commercial Merino wool and beef production.
They are actively investing in long-term property improvements, including fencing, water infrastructure and practical station systems that support better day-to-day management.
This is a hands-on, family-oriented operation where the owners remain closely involved and provide support during major livestock programs.
The role is based on a large mixed sheep and cattle station near Winton, suited to someone who enjoys remote station life, practical autonomy and taking pride in a well-run property.
The Role Reporting directly to the owners, the Station Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a mixed grazing enterprise running Merino sheep and breeding cattle.
This is a practical, independent role covering livestock, water, machinery, contractors, maintenance planning and ongoing property improvement work.
Key responsibilities include: Manage daily sheep and cattle husbandry, animal health and welfare Plan and carry out mustering using motorbikes and side-by-side buggies Oversee lambing, lamb marking, crutching, shearing and weaning programs Monitor stock condition, feed availability and seasonal conditions Maintain water infrastructure including bores, tanks, troughs and dams Operate and maintain station machinery, trucks, graders, loaders and tractors Coordinate contractors for shearing, fencing, crutching and livestock work About You You will be a practical station operator with strong sheep experience, sound cattle knowledge and the confidence to work independently in a remote location.
You will be organised,



reliable and able to communicate well with owners, contractors and support staff.
The ideal candidate will bring: Practical sheep management and husbandry experience Cattle husbandry experience and strong livestock welfare standards Confidence operating station machinery, including graders, loaders and trucks HR licence, or relevant truck operating experience Experience maintaining water infrastructure and general station assets Basic mechanical aptitude and a tidy approach to gear and equipment Firearms licence and Q Fever vaccination, or willingness to obtain The Benefits: This role offers a strong remuneration package, quality station housing and the opportunity to take genuine ownership of a well-supported western Queensland grazing operation.
It would suit an experienced Station Manager or a capable senior station hand ready to step into a long-term management role.
