This is a newly created role due to this growth.
About the Role Reporting to/being trained by the Financial Controller, this is a varied hands on role and your duties will include support month end reporting, business partnering and continuous improvement initiatives across a geographically dispersed team.
Key Responsibilities Month-End Reporting Complete daily bank reconciliations with guidance and support from the Finance team.
Assist with preparing and posting routine journals, including accruals, prepayments and other month-end entries.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for review, helping to identify reconciling items and follow up outstanding balances.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice review, coding, query follow-up and basic payment or receipt support.
Assist with compiling monthly management reporting schedules and supporting analysis.
Assist with BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax, superannuation and other statutory reporting requirements as directed.
Support year-end audit preparation by helping maintain accurate workpapers, schedules and supporting documentation.
Help investigate variances, discrepancies and unusual transactions, escalating matters where appropriate.
Business Partnering Develop positive working relationships with operational and finance stakeholders.
Support site administrators by helping answer finance-related queries and escalating technical matters when required.
Assist with contract reporting obligations and financial requirements under guidance from senior team members.
Prepare basic financial information and supporting analysis to assist commercial and operational decision-making.
Team Business Improvement Participate in business improvement initiatives and projects as required.
Build strong relationships within a geographically dispersed finance team.
Contribute ideas, share knowledge and support colleagues to improve team performance and balance workloads.
About You Currently studying towards your CA or CPA qualification.
Minimum 3 years' accounting experience (mining experience an advantage).
Strong Excel skills and a solid grasp of accounting fundamentals.
A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a genuine willingness to learn.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across a dispersed team.
