Chef – Full Time Light Years Cafe 132 Camberwell Road, Hawthorn East VIC **** Light Years Cafe is a busy and well-established café in Hawthorn East, renowned for its quality breakfast, brunch, lunch.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Full-Time Chef to join and lead our kitchen team and assist in delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer experiences.
Position Chef Employment Type Full-time, Permanent 38 hours per week Salary $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation , depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare and cook a wide range of breakfast, brunch, lunch and seasonal menu items.
Develop and contribute to new menu items and daily specials.
Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations during service.
Monitor food preparation and maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
Order, receive and manage food supplies while minimising wastage.
Train and support kitchen staff and assist with rostering where required.




Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and organisational procedures.
Essential Requirements Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or equivalent qualification; minimum 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a Chef.
Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality café-style cuisine.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
