$150,000 - $180,000 + Superannuation + Bonus Lead Strategic and Statutory Projects Renowned consultancy Principal Strategic Town Planner Location: Perth, WA Type: Full‐time Level: Senior Salary: $150K - $180K + Super + Bonus Are you an experienced Planner looking to step into a strategic role where your expertise is valued, your ideas matter, and you can define your career.
This strategic role sits with in an established and award winning team located in the heart of Perth.
About the Role As a Principal, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects, guiding them from concept through approval.
You'll work closely with clients, consultants, and local government to provide clear advice, manage applications, and deliver robust planning solutions on state significant projects.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys autonomy, meaningful client interaction, shaping future communities across the state, and the opportunity to mentor and support junior staff while still remaining hands‐on.
Key Responsibilities Oversee the preparation and lodgement of development applications, subdivision proposals, structure plans and strategic planning outputs.
Provide high‐quality statutory and strategic planning advice.
Lead project coordination with architects, engineers, surveyors, and government agencies.
Manage client relationships and deliver transparent,
commercially focused recommendations.
Assist in business development through proposal writing and repeat client engagement.
Mentor planners and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
About You You're an experienced planning professional who can confidently manage projects, solve problems creatively, and communicate effectively with industry stakeholders.
We're looking for someone with: A tertiary qualification in Urban Regional Planning or equivalent.
12+ years' of WA experience in statutory or strategic planning (private experience is preferable).
Engaging leadership skills Business development skills are highly desirable but not essential Strong working knowledge of WA planning frameworks and approval pathways.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment.
A proactive mindset with a passion for delivering great outcomes for clients.
