Position: Mechanical Engineer Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Minto NSW **** Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team in Minto, New South Wales.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: ·Designing and developing trailer bodies, rigid truck bodies and specialised transport equipment.
·Preparing conceptual designs and detailed production drawings for various truck and trailer configurations, including curtain siders, flat-top trailers and customised vehicle bodies.
·Producing accurate engineering documentation using CAD software and providing engineering support throughout the manufacturing process to ensure product quality and timely project completion.
·Coordinating with the Production Department to ensure fabrication is carried out in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
·Liaising with fabricators and workshop personnel to resolve technical issues during manufacturing.
·Coordinating with the Purchasing Department to identify and procure materials and components required for projects.
·Communicating with suppliers regarding technical specifications of mechanical parts and components.
·Reviewing engineering designs to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, safety requirements and customer specifications.
·Assisting with product development, design improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
·A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
·A minimum of three (3) years' relevant post-qualification experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive, heavy vehicle, trailer or manufacturing industry.
·Demonstrated proficiency using CAD software such as SolidWorks, BricsCAD, AutoCAD or equivalent.
·Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software is highly desirable.
·Strong understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical systems.
·Knowledge of Australian vehicle design standards and relevant engineering regulations.
·Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
·Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
·High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
