Broad commercially focused role with plenty of projects, working with a great mentor Fast-growing manufacturing business with a great product Scenic Rim Region, SE Queensland – 1 hour from the Gold Coast and Brisbane Drive Operational Performance Company Background This family-owned business has had a long and established history of operations in the Scenic Rim Region of South East Queensland.
In the last few years, they have been upgrading a manufacturing facility, and are now looking for a commercially minded Plant Finance Manager/Controller to take the business to the next level and become a key member of the site leadership team.
Reporting to the Managing Director and partnering closely with the Plant General Manager, Operations, Engineering, Logistics and Sales, you'll play a critical role in improving profitability, optimising manufacturing performance and providing the financial insight that drives operational decision-making.
The Role Based at their manufacturing facility onsite 5 days a week, you'll work across every aspect of the operation, partnering with leaders throughout the business to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance financial performance.
You'll become the financial expert on plant operations, understanding everything from production yields and inventory movements through to freight profitability, labour productivity and capital investment decisions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, asking questions, challenging assumptions and helping operational teams make better commercial decisions.
Partner with Operations, Logistics, Engineering,



HR and Sales to provide commercial financial support.
Develop and maintain standard costing models and analyse manufacturing variances including yield, usage, overheads and utilities.
Lead inventory governance across raw materials, finished goods and engineering stores.
Deliver meaningful analysis around freight costs, route profitability and supply chain efficiency.
Support capital expenditure decisions through financial modelling, ROI analysis and post-investment reviews.
Own the annual budget, rolling forecasts and weekly operational reporting for the site.
Develop insightful dashboards and KPI reporting for the leadership team.
Maintain strong financial controls across inventory, purchasing, weighbridge reconciliation and plant assets.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems, reporting and operational processes.
Your Background You will be a self-starter who enjoys working in manufacturing environments.
Ideally, you will have previous experience as a Plant Controller, Cost Accountant or Finance Manager and possess the following skills: You will have strong costing, inventory and manufacturing accounting experience.
You will be a solid communicator and be able to influence operational performance and Senior Managers.
You will be systems literate and will have a naturally curious mindset.
