Senior Security Consultant – Sydney, NSW
As a Senior Security Consultant you will be responsible for demonstrating leadership in technical skill and strategy. You will provide consulting services and may be required to lead a consulting team within your area of expertise. You will support management and other functional areas of the business to drive business outcomes. In addition to providing subject matter expertise, you will be required to provide a high level of understanding of general cyber security concepts. A Senior Security Consultant is expected to maintain a high level of community/vendor recognition within a technical practice area.
Responsibilities
Be adaptable to discussing a wide range of cyber security concepts and contribute to different cyber security technologies.
Advise management on the consulting strategy and drive the growth of business in your practice area.
Provide leadership in identifying, defining and architecting client solutions.
Provide leadership on implementing and delivering projects.
Lead the direction for training and development required to meet the consulting strategy.
Lead and mentor others within your area of expertise. Promote a high‐performing culture within the team, focusing on consulting and delivery excellence. Foster innovation and positive change.
Maintain a high level of technical skill commensurate with the emergence of technology and vendors.
Provide detailed architecture, design and migration strategies.
Provide client support and technical relationship management as required.
Work with aligned vendors to understand technical roadmaps and new solutions to market.
Ensure the quality of technical documentation of others within your practice area.
Contribute to the sales process which includes presentations, research, project scoping and tenders.
Present to the business on at minimum a quarterly basis on developments within your practice area.
Ensure the continuous improvement of your practice area, including the enhancement of existing methodology material, supporting assets and the Service Catalogue.
Assist client's with product implementations.

Timely and accurate completion of assigned technical tasks and support requests

Reduction in repeated issues through effective documentation and escalation
Active participation in team meetings, training, and process improvement efforts
Completion of required documentation to internal QA standards

Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in Security Consulting
Understanding of cyber security principles and security layers
Knowledge of cyber security standards, processes, policies and metrics (encompassing network security, application security and data security)
Understanding of industry best practices for security architecture frameworks, tools, standards and guidelines
Excellent understanding and extensive experience in the professional service/consulting processes and delivery
Able to assess and validate compliance to acknowledged security standards
Broad understanding of IP networks and the mechanisms, appliances and controls to protect them
Excellent understanding of core security technical fundamentals and principles
Experience with security risk and compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC *****, ***** series, PCI‐DSS, NIST,



Australian Government ISM and how they apply to customer environments
Excellent ability to strategically guide and technically implement secure enterprise level solutions within practice area, including within legacy enterprise environments

Netskope – including SWG, Private Access and Cloud Security functionality
Networking Skills – Understanding of networking architecture as it relates to Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles
Desirable Technical skills
Microsoft Global Secure Access
Design, Deployment
Email Security principles using any of the following products
Mimecast
Defender for Office 365
Abnormal
Airlock Digital Application Control Suite
Knowledgeable in IT service management best practices and processes

Excellent presentation skills focusing on technical presales and solutions
Ability to discuss, communicate and distinguish between strategic and tactical considerations
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage issues through to resolution
Ability to drive vendor support processes to achieve accelerated issue resolution
Ability to identify and qualify opportunities within consulting/presales engagements
Able to travel when required
Maintains strong attention to detail in high‐pressure situations
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, stakeholders and vendors
Fully fluent in written and spoken English
Always maintains a high standard of dress (business attire)
Exceptional ability to create original documentation including assessments, design, configuration guides, tuning guides and operational guides to a template standard
Strong ambition and ability to develop and expand cyber security services and product support
