This newly created leadership position offers the chance to take ownership of day-to-day horticultural operations, improve systems and processes, and contribute to the future direction of a progressive agricultural enterprise.
Reporting directly to the business owners, you'll lead the day-to-day management of horticultural operations while providing technical and operational leadership across production, irrigation, quality assurance and workforce management.
Your duties will include (but not be limited to): Managing daily horticultural operations Leading supervisors and seasonal employees Planning irrigation, nutrition and crop management programs Coordinating maintenance, harvesting and seasonal work plans Maintaining quality assurance and production systems Managing operational budgets and identifying improvement opportunities Providing regular reporting and operational planning To be successful in this role you will be an experienced horticultural professional who enjoys leading people, improving systems and making informed operational decisions.
You're practical, organised and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
To be considered for this role,
you will demonstrate: Tertiary qualifications in Agronomy, Horticulture or a related discipline Experience managing commercial horticultural or orchard operations Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and water management Experience implementing quality assurance and crop monitoring programs Proven leadership and workforce management capability Strong planning, communication and organisational skills The ability to work independently and take ownership of operational outcomes Based in the beautiful South West of Western Australia, this role offers an outstanding regional lifestyle with excellent schools, wineries, forests, national parks and easy access to the coast.
