Our services include wall and floor tiling, natural-stone tiling, paving, pool coping and other architectural finishes.
Due to our ongoing project requirements, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team in a full-time position.
The position The successful applicant will work as a Wall and Floor Tiler on residential and commercial construction projects throughout the greater Brisbane area and, where reasonably required, other client project locations.
The position is full time for 38 hours per week and is offered for an initial period of at least two years, with the possibility of ongoing employment.
Key responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for: examining plans, specifications and drawings; measuring, marking and setting out wall and floor surfaces; calculating the quantity of tiles and other materials required; preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive; cleaning surfaces and filling holes and cracks; levelling and preparing substrates before installation; spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles; positioning and laying ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, travertine, limestone, mosaic and other tiles; ensuring tiles are properly aligned, levelled and evenly spaced; measuring, cutting and shaping tiles for edges, corners, fittings, pipes and other obstacles; grouting tiles and cleaning excess grout and adhesive; applying sealants and completing finished edges; undertaking waterproofing work where appropriately licensed,



authorised and supervised; inspecting completed work and carrying out necessary repairs or adjustments; safely operating and maintaining hand tools, power tools and tile-cutting equipment; coordinating with supervisors, builders and other trades; and maintaining workplace health, safety, cleanliness and quality standards.
Qualifications and experience Applicants must have: an AQF Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, or an equivalent relevant trade qualification; and at least two years of relevant wall and floor tiling experience.
Alternatively, at least three years of relevant full-time wall and floor tiling experience may be considered in substitution for the formal qualification.
Applicants must also demonstrate: experience preparing surfaces and laying wall and floor tiles; competence in measuring, cutting, positioning, levelling and grouting tiles; experience working with ceramic, porcelain and natural-stone tiles; knowledge of adhesives, grouts, sealants and installation materials; the ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings; competence using hand tools, power tools and tile-cutting equipment; careful attention to detail and high-quality workmanship; the ability to work independently and as part of a construction team; sound workplace health and safety knowledge; a current Construction Induction Card (White Card); and a current driver licence.
Any waterproofing work must only be undertaken where the applicant holds the necessary authorisation or can lawfully perform the work under the company's licensing and supervision arrangements.
Salary and conditions The successful applicant will receive: $85,000 - $90,000 per annum excluding superannuation based on 38 ordinary hours per week; compulsory superannuation contributions in addition to the base salary; and overtime, penalty rates, allowances and other entitlements in accordance with the applicable industrial instrument and workplace laws.
The position is covered by the Building and Construction General On-site Award ****, where applicable.
