Company: Riverland Engineering Australia Position: Design Engineer Employment Type: Full-time Location: Australia Position Overview Riverland Engineering Australia is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer to support the design, development, and improvement of engineering products, systems, and manufacturing solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical designs, drawings, and engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with Australian standards, client specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities Develop detailed engineering designs, layouts, models, and technical drawings using CAD software.
Prepare design calculations, technical specifications, bills of materials, and project documentation.
Collaborate with project managers, production teams, and clients to deliver efficient engineering solutions.
Review and modify existing designs to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Conduct feasibility studies, design analysis, and testing of engineering systems and components.
Ensure all designs comply with Australian Standards, WHS regulations, and quality requirements.
Support manufacturing and fabrication teams during production and installation activities.
Assist in material selection, procurement support,
and cost estimation for projects.
Participate in inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate engineering records, revisions, and documentation throughout project lifecycles.
Skills and Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience in engineering design, drafting, or manufacturing environments preferred.
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, or similar.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and design principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Solid attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in fabrication, industrial engineering, or product development environments.
Knowledge of Australian engineering standards and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with 3D modelling, finite element analysis (FEA), or design validation processes.
Working Hours Full-time position Minimum 38 hours per week
