APS6 Non-Ongoing, 12-months + extension Located in Canberra, ACT Minimum NV1 Required About the Department The ICT Investment and Portfolio Management Office (IPN) sits within the Digital and Service Delivery Branch (DAB) and provides reporting, advice, assurance and compliance services to ensure all staff in the Information Management and Technology Division (IMD) apply the standards and principles of the Project Management Framework (PMF) in a pragmatic and consistent manner.
IPN provides input into reports and the Portfolio Dashboard, assurance to SROs and Executives on project performance, and offers people and processes to assist in managing IMD/DFAT investments.
By driving continuous improvement in project performance, IPN is a trusted partner in the delivery of projects.
About the Role The Program Coordinator supports the Program Manager in the day-to-day management of a range of projects varying in complexity and size.
Working under limited direction with reasonable autonomy and accountability, you'll exercise initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and the application of practices and procedures, providing detailed technical, professional and policy advice on complex problems.
This role operates in a dynamic environment where priorities and objectives may shift, so you'll need to adapt to changing organisational needs while ensuring program delivery aligns with strategic goals.
The role requires proactive risk and interdependency management, effective collaboration across internal and external teams, and liaison with a range of stakeholders in a representational role.
Key Duties Support the finalisation of monthly project status reporting, reviewing project input and ensuring alignment with PMO frameworks and guidelines Support the monthly Project Board process,
including creating a monthly Milestone Report and contributing to the development and maintenance of the PMO governance structure Provide administrative support to Program Managers, and support and guidance to project managers on PMO and project management functions Develop effective program administration that provides external stakeholders with a coordinated, integrated and aligned approach to delivering the Program Support the improvement of project management processes, procedures and frameworks of varying complexity and sensitivity, aligned with legislation and departmental and government objectives Develop efficient program management tools in line with departmental guidance and policy to monitor the performance of IT Capital projects, and contribute to the development of a current capital bids process Provide quality assurance and review of core project management artefacts to ensure consistency across the portfolio Monitor and report on the performance and quality of complex departmental projects, including budgeting, trend analysis, risk mitigation activities and post-implementation reviews Essential Attributes / Skills / Experience Builds and manages strong stakeholder relationships, confidently engaging across business and technical areas to support program outcomes and drive alignment Demonstrates leadership, initiative and adaptability, effectively managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment Communicates with clarity and influence, providing trusted advice,
