Position Title: Quality Assurance Officer Employer: Quality Gourmet Chef Employment Type: Full-time Location: Marleston, South Australia **** Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 Quality Gourmet Chef is a proud, family-owned and operated food manufacturer based in Marleston, South Australia.
Since our humble beginnings in ****, we have grown from a local supplier into a nationwide food supplier, providing high-quality products like our signature pancakes and chimichangas to major foodservice clients across Australia and Recent Zealand (including iconic brands like Hog's Breath Cafe and The Coffee Club).
Quality and safety are at the heart of everything we do.
The Quality Assurance Officer will develop, implement, and oversee the monitoring, testing, and application of quality assurance programs within our Marleston manufacturing facility.
Key Duties: ·Develop, implement, audit, and monitor robust quality procedures and food safety programs (e.g., HACCP) at our Marleston processing facility to ensure 100% compliance with Australian food standards.
·Oversee and monitor production requirements as they relate to food safety, biosecurity, and general quality assurance across all product lines (including pancakes and burritos).
·Inspect incoming raw materials and agricultural produce (such as flour, dairy, meat, and poultry) to identify any product quality issues before they enter the production line.
·Test samples of finished produce for quality,
consistency, size, and purity, ensuring our nationwide distributors and major foodservice clients receive a premium product.
·Ensure required standards of hygiene are strictly observed throughout the entire lifecycle of the product—from ingredient storage and food processing to final packing and transport vehicles.
·Conduct regular internal audits of food handling practices and cleanliness within the facility.
·Advise internal production teams and external primary suppliers on regulations pertaining to the grading, packing, and loading of products to mitigate biosecurity risks and maintain supply chain integrity.
·Identify potential risks, pests, or contaminants in raw ingredients and provide immediate advice on corrective and preventative actions.
Requirements: ·Relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma, or at least three years of relevant work experience to substitute for the qualification ·Proven experience in Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Control (QC) within a food manufacturing or processing enterprise.
·Strong knowledge of Australian food safety standards, HACCP principles, and biosecurity regulations.
·Excellent communication skills to advise production staff and collaborate with management.
·High attention to detail with experience in testing, sampling, and auditing procedures.
