POSITION | JORDAN Cost Control / Office Engineer | VVIP Private Estate LOCATION Amman, Jordan The client will arrange the work visa and provide relocation if the successful candidate is not local.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Cost Control / Office Engineer will provide comprehensive commercial, contractual and administrative support for prestigious construction, refurbishment and high-end finishing projects within a VVIP private estate.
The position is responsible for internal project reporting, budget tracking, contract and purchase-order administration, invoice assessment, payment certification, forecasting and variation control.
The successful candidate will ensure that project costs and contractual obligations are accurately documented, monitored and reported.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Additional qualification in Construction Management, Cost Control, Quantity Surveying or Contract Administration highly regarded Relevant professional certification or membership advantageous Fluent English, written and spoken mandatory Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Sinhala or another Indian or Sri Lankan language advantageous EXPERIENCE Five to ten years' experience in cost control, office engineering, contract administration or a similar position Proven experience managing the commercial and administrative aspects of high-end construction projects Experience with luxury residences, palaces, five-star hotels or premium finishing projects strongly preferred Demonstrated experience in project budgeting, cost-code development and variance reporting Strong experience administering contractor and supplier agreements Experience reviewing invoices and preparing progress payment certificates Knowledge of forecasting,



variation orders and project cost reporting Middle East construction experience highly regarded DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare internal reports covering commercial, contractual and financial project matters Track approved project budgets, commitments, expenditure and forecast costs Administer project budget-variance tracking and investigate significant discrepancies Review budgets for new construction and refurbishment projects Establish appropriate cost codes based on approved project estimates Maintain accurate project cost-control systems and financial records Manage and administer contractor and supplier agreements Prepare and maintain contracts, purchase orders and related commercial documentation Monitor contractor and supplier compliance with contractual obligations Review contractor and supplier invoices for accuracy and contractual compliance Verify completed works, delivered materials and supporting invoice documentation Prepare progress payment certificates in coordination with project stakeholders Track payments, outstanding commitments, retentions and final accounts Prepare project cost forecasts and cost-to-complete reports Monitor and administer variation orders and associated cost adjustments Maintain detailed variation registers and supporting documentation Identify potential cost overruns and report financial risks to management Assist with the commercial evaluation of quotations and proposed changes Provide comprehensive administration of construction and project contracts Ensure all contractual parties properly fulfil their respective obligations and responsibilities Coordinate with project managers, quantity surveyors, consultants, contractors and suppliers Maintain accurate, organised and confidential commercial records Support project audits and provide requested cost and contractual documentation Assist with the financial and contractual close-out of completed projects SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Strong cost-control and budget-management capability Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial administration Understanding of luxury construction materials and high-end finishing works Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving abilities Ability to interpret project estimates, drawings and technical documentation Skilled in invoice assessment and progress-payment certification Experience with forecasting, variations and cost-to-complete reporting Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy Solid organisation, coordination and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant project or cost-control software Clear and professional written and verbal communication High level of discretion, integrity and confidentiality Ability to work independently and collaboratively Commitment to financial accountability and project-quality standards SALARY USD 2,*****,750 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
