Finance Manager Location: Coopers Plains, QLD Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week) Salary: $110,000- $140,000 per annum + Superannuation TJ Building Designers is an innovative and growing building design consultancy specialising in residential, commercial and industrial projects throughout Queensland.
Led by experienced building designers, we provide end-to-end design solutions from concept development through to construction documentation, tendering and contract administration, with a strong focus on quality, collaboration and client satisfaction.
Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial management of the business and support strategic decision-making.
About the Role Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the business while ensuring strong governance, compliance and commercial performance across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and monitor financial strategies, budgets and business plans aligned with the company's growth objectives.
Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections and management reports.
Analyse financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Manage the company's accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll oversight.
Monitor project costs, revenue recognition and financial performance across residential,



commercial and industrial projects.
Establish and maintain effective internal financial controls, policies and risk management procedures.
Ensure compliance with Australian taxation, accounting and statutory reporting requirements.
Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions and government agencies.
Evaluate investment opportunities, financing options and capital expenditure proposals.
Provide commercial and financial advice to senior management to support business growth and decision-making.
Lead and mentor finance staff while improving financial systems and reporting processes.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have: A relevant bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
Relevant finance management experience.
Robust knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation and financial reporting requirements.
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial analysis.
Excellent analytical, organisational and leadership skills.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the business.
CPA or CA qualification will be highly regarded.
