What does the job look like?
Reporting to the State Transport Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a transport operation, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient service delivery.
This customer-facing leadership role partners closely with major customers to review operational performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage financial outcomes and lead high-performing transport teams.
This role will be a permanent role based in Erskine Park.
Key Areas: Lead site operations to deliver safe, compliant and efficient transport outcomes.
Manage site risks, hazard controls and incident reporting in line with company, client and regulatory requirements.
Deliver continuous improvement initiatives that improve operational performance and profitability.
Build strong customer relationships and address operational requirements and service expectations.
Support workforce capability, performance, compliance and industrial relations activities.
Track key performance indicators and contribute to operational, customer and financial reporting.
Are you the one?
We are seeking a customer-focused transport leader who can build strong relationships with major customers and confidently represent Linfox in operational reviews and performance forums.
You will bring solid financial acumen, a proven background in transport operations and compliance, and the ability to lead large teams within a unionised environment while driving safety, service and operational performance.
You can demonstrate: Experience managing customer relationships and presenting operational performance, safety and service metrics to key stakeholders.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing P L performance, cost control and operational profitability.
Proven transport operations experience, including compliance, fleet utilisation, transport planning and local or metropolitan delivery operations.
Experience leading large operational teams and working effectively within a unionised workforce environment.
Ability to develop, coach and influence frontline leaders and operational teams to achieve business outcomes.
Exposure to transport management systems (TMS) and technology platforms used to support transport operations desirable.
