APS5 Non-Ongoing, 12-months + extension Located in Canberra, ACT Minimum NV1 Required About the Department The ICT Investment and Portfolio Management Office (IPN) sits within the Digital and Service Delivery Branch (DAB) and provides reporting, advice, assurance and compliance services to ensure all staff in the Information Management and Technology Division (IMD) apply the standards and principles of the Project Management Framework (PMF) in a pragmatic and consistent manner.
IPN provides input into reports and the Portfolio Dashboard, assurance to SROs and Executives on project performance, and offers people and processes to assist in managing IMD/DFAT investments.
By driving continuous improvement in project performance, IPN is a trusted partner in the delivery of projects.
About the Role The IPN Administrator supports the Project Coordinator in the day-to-day management of a range of projects varying in complexity and size.
Working under the broad supervision and guidance of staff at the APS6 or EL1 level, you'll be a key member of the team, effectively managing relationships with co-workers and internal and external stakeholders.
You'll undertake work that is moderately complex to complex in nature, operating under limited direction and taking accountability for organising your workflow and making independent decisions within your area of responsibility.
This role operates in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift, so adaptability and effective collaboration across internal and external teams are key.
Key Duties Perform research work and analysis, including contributing to the preparation of reports on program activities and project milestones Coordinate and participate in contract management,
including developing scope, managing tendering processes and monitoring contract performance Provide advice and technical expertise in specific areas of project work Oversee databases, undertake data quality assurance, and present analytical results in formats suitable for interpretation Assist with risk assessment and risk management activities for a project or program Manage expenditure, analyse and report on financial information, including reconciling invoices and approving or certifying payments with appropriate delegation Assist in project management and coordination activities, including undertaking and managing moderately complex projects under the direction of higher classification levels Coordinate the allocation and submission of briefs, and draft briefing papers for higher classification levels Essential Attributes / Skills / Experience Builds and maintains solid stakeholder relationships, effectively collaborating across internal and external teams to support program outcomes Demonstrates strong communication skills, clearly presenting complex information and tailoring messaging to diverse audiences Shows accountability and initiative, working independently, exercising sound judgement, and supporting team members through guidance and quality assurance Applies project and program coordination skills,
