Client Services Officer / Bookkeeper (Part-Time, 4-5 Days per Week)

Downs Accounting is a well-established accounting and advisory firm based in Rivervale, assisting business owners, investors and families with taxation, accounting and business advice.
Due to a long-term team member relocating after seven years with the firm, we are seeking an experienced and versatile Client Services Officer / Bookkeeper to join our team.
This is a permanent part-time role, ideally 4 days per week, with flexibility available for the right candidate.
About the Role
This is a varied position primarily focused on bookkeeping and client support.
You will work closely with our accountants and clients, helping businesses maintain accurate financial records and improve their bookkeeping systems and processes.
Responsibilities include:
Bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
Payroll processing and STP reporting
Superannuation processing and reconciliations
Accounts payable and receivable
Bank reconciliations and general ledger coding
Assisting clients with Xero, MYOB and other cloud accounting software
Training and supporting clients in the use of their accounting software
Assisting accountants with client administration and bookkeeping matters
ASIC company compliance and annual reviews
Maintaining client records and practice management systems
Assisting with client enquiries and phone coverage when required
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous bookkeeping experience
Strong understanding of payroll and superannuation obligations
Experience with Xero, MYOB and/or QuickBooks
Knowledge of ASIC company compliance requirements
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organisational and time management skills
Professional communication skills
A positive attitude and willingness to assist clients
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
