About Us:

RATP Dev is a subsidiary of the RATP Group, a global leader in high-capacity urban rail and the world’s third largest public transport operator.

Our 25,000 people design, operate, maintain and modernise urban and interurban transport networks across more than 100 cities in 17 countries, delivering tailored mobility solutions that respond to each community’s environmental, social, and economic needs.

We build, deliver and commit to the best of public transport - every day, everywhere, for everybody- making it the natural choice for cities and passengers.

We are currently seeking an experienced Civil & Structures to join the SRL Operator Technical Team within the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) Linewide Alliance.

About the Role:

The Civil & Structural Engineer is a key member of the SRL Operator Technical Team and Engineering Authority, responsible for ensuring that all civil and structural designs are developed to perfectly serve the needs of future SRL operations.

Reporting to the Engineering Authority Manager, you will provide technical reviews, expert guidance, and operator-led advocacy during design development and progressive construction phases. Your scope will span above-ground buildings at the Southern Stabling yard, underground stations, portals, cross passages, intervention shafts, and ventilation shafts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design & Interface Review: Lead and coordinate technical reviews of Civil & Structural design packages (tunnels, stations, stabling yards) to ensure operational suitability, interface integration, and compliance with the TLX Structures and Tunnels Standard.

- Risk & Safety Management:

Identify structural design risks and maintenance bottlenecks, proactively driving safety outcomes in Safety in Design (SiD) forums and escalating issues to the Engineering Authority Manager.

- Handover & As-Built Assurance: Review contractor As-Built drawings, BIM models, and handover deliverables to verify O&M; compliance, configuration control, and technical quality.

- Site Inspections & Testing: Witness key construction completions, structural walkdowns, and technical handover demonstrations on-site.

- O&M; Readiness & Asset Data: Collaborate with readiness teams to develop structural maintenance procedures, capture critical asset register data, and validate Life Cycle Cost (LCC) assumptions.

- Engineering Governance: Author technical reports and deliver expert recommendations to the Engineering Review Committee to ensure robust, operator-led design.

About You:

You are an experienced structural or civil engineering professional with a strong technical background and a passion for operator-led design and engineering governance. You thrive in collaborative, multi-stakeholder joint venture environments, have exceptional analytical skills, and are driven to ensure major civil assets are built for long-term maintainability.

You will bring:

- Proven experience (typically 7 to 10 years) in Civil & Structural design, manufacturing, Testing & Commissioning, or asset maintenance.

- Strong familiarity with railway or metro operations, maintenance regimes, and development design review processes.

- Technical expertise across major civil assets, including tunnels, portals, cross passages, underground stations, and ventilation shafts.

- Demonstrated experience identifying design risks, evaluating reliability targets, and contributing to Safety in Design (SiD) forums.

- Strong collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence design decisions across delivery partners and contractors.

- Highly structured organizational skills, with a track record of delivering technical reviews on time within complex project frameworks.

- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
