About the Role

Greater Hume Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Project Ganger to join our Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead Council's Project Team in the delivery of a diverse range of civil and infrastructure projects that support our communities across the Greater Hume region.

Reporting to the Operations Overseer, you will provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and coordination of works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Council standards and legislative requirements. The role offers a rewarding mix of hands-on field work, project coordination and team supervision.

This position works 38 hours per week on a 9-day fortnight and offers a salary in the range of $1,472.60 to $1,649.30 gross per week, plus 12% Superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes but is not limited to:

- Leading and coordinating Council's Project Team in the delivery of infrastructure and civil construction projects.
- Supervising the repair and maintenance of Council assets, including footpaths, kerb and guttering, drainage systems, signage, and associated infrastructure.
- Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
- Maintaining compliance with Council policies, workplace health and safety requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Planning, implementing and monitoring traffic control measures for project and maintenance activities.
- Completing required worksite records, project documentation and reporting.
- Providing guidance and support to team members to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Undertaking other duties within your skills, qualifications and experience as directed by the Operations Overseer.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:





- Experience and knowledge in civil construction, infrastructure maintenance, and project delivery.
- Proven ability to supervise and lead a team while contributing to employee development and workplace culture.
- Experience operating and maintaining a range of civil construction plant and equipment.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices.
- A current Construction Industry White Card .
