Qualified Carpenter - Mt Isa | Local Government Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Carpenter/Carpentry Tradesperson for a temporary assignment with a local government organisation in Mt Isa.

- Location: Mt Isa
- Duration: 1 June - 30 August - possibility of extention
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Pay Rate: $40.33 per hour + superannuation. Overtime and double time availiable

About the Role

This position involves carrying out a broad range of carpentry, maintenance, and construction duties across council facilities and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently or within a small team environment and be willing to undertake cross-trade duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
- Framing, installation, and general carpentry works
- Material preparation and handling




- Maintenance and repair work across various sites
- Supporting other trade-related tasks where required
- Maintaining safe work practices and compliance with WH&S; standards
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Multi-skilled with a willingness to undertake cross-trade work
- Sound computer skills
- Solid understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working at heights or in varying weather conditions
- Construction industry related trade qualification
- Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card)
