ROLE OVERVIEW

Support Workers – SIL, Community & In-Home Care (Casual) | Across the Hunter, Newcastle, & Lake Macquarie.

- Deliver person-centred support to people with intellectual,



mental health and physical disabilities — including personal care (showering, dressing, grooming, toileting). This is a core part of the role , always delivered with dignity and respect

- Confidently support participants with complex needs — mental health, trauma-informed care, behaviours of concern, de-escalation and positive behaviour support

- Implement Behaviour Support Plans, Mealtime Management Plans and allied health recommendations, plus complex health supports and manual handling (training provided; nursing/clinical experience highly regarded)

- Support everyday living skills — meal prep, shopping, budgeting, domestic tasks and working toward individual goals

- Identify, report and document incidents, risks and hazards, and understand the NDIS Code of Conduct, reportable incidents and restrictive practices (full internal training provided)

- Maintain regular, reliable availability across mornings, evenings, overnights and weekends (preferences accommodated where possible)

- Be willing to drive company vehicles, including vans, when required

ABOUT YOU

You will have a kind and caring nature, and have demonstrated experience in providing care and support to vulnerable people. You have great interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build positive relationships with our participants, their family members, and carers (where applicable).

Qualifications & Checks

- Certificate III or IV in Disability,



Aged Care and/or Individual Support

- NDIS Worker check (or willing to obtain)

- WWCC (or willing to obtain)

- First Aid (can be obtained after application)

- NSW Drivers Licence

- Own Reliable Car and Comprehensively insured

Experience & Skills

- Show a compassionate, inclusive, and professional approach with a strong focus on customer service

- Previous experience in a similar role providing support to people with complex care needs is highly valued. Experience as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), Enrolled Nurse (EN), or Registered Nurse (RN), as well as mental health or youth work, is desirable but not essential.

- Demonstrated experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern, including emotional regulation, de-escalation, and implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
