Task & responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control.
Assist with menu planning and seasonal menu development. Maintain food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation. Minimise food wastage and maintain cost-effective kitchen practices. Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen staff.
Qualification & experience
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Chef or Cook in a busy commercial kitchen. Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not essential where sufficient experience can be demonstrated).
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations and food safety requirements. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a rapid-paced team environment.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as required.
