We are seeking aProject Manager – Development to lead the early-stage planning and development of transmission projects, with a strong focus on providing critical inputs to business case development.
You will play a key role in shaping project scope, timelines, and feasibility—ensuring each initiative is strategically aligned and set up for long-term success. You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.

With a Hybrid working arrangement, this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Project Delivery team within the Transmission line of business.
Whatyou’llbe doing in this role:
- Lead, plan, and manage the delivery of strategic initiatives and projects across the project development lifecycle
- Provide key inputs to business case development, including support for scope definition, cost estimation, risk identification, and scheduling
- Deliver project schedules, milestones, and deliverables with business objectives and within regulatory requirements
- Apply proactive risk management practices to safeguard timelines, budgets, and outcomes
- Conduct project health checks and provide clear, actionable recommendations
- Ensure customer needs, community expectations, and environmental outcomes are embedded in project design and delivery
- Build strong, trust-based relationships across AusNet divisions and with external stakeholders
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combinationof:
- Demonstrated experience in electricity transmission or energy infrastructure development (preferred)
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects to time, budget, quality, and safety standards
- Strong capability in contributing to business case inputs and supporting strategic investment decisions
- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and community outcomes
- Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills
- Effective interpersonal, negotiating and facilitating skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent
- Certification with the Australian Institute of Project Management (preferred)
