About the Role

Qvest Australia is seeking a Project Engineer - AV & ICT Systems to join our Sydney team.

You will work across the full project lifecycle, including design, configuration, testing, installation, commissioning and support of professional audio, broadcast and ICT systems, helping deliver projects to the high standards we are known for.

This is a hands-on engineering role involving both office-based and on-site work, contributing directly to high-profile projects across public sector, broadcast and critical AV infrasturcture environments.

The role would suit candidates with previous experience in AV, broadcast or systems integration environments, together with a solid understanding of ICT and networking fundamentals. Candidates with broader solution design experience or 5+ years of industry experience will be highly regarded.

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, takes pride in delivering innovative technology solutions, and enjoys hands-on engineering work across the full project lifecycle.

No two projects are the same, and successful candidates should enjoy working across different technologies and embracing practical engineering challenges.

Your Tasks

- Configure, test, and commission qualified AV, broadcast, and ICT systems.
- Perform on-site installation, integration and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with project, support, logistics, and drafting teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing efficient client support.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve work efficiency and delivery processes.




- Participate in a shared on-call support roster and occasional after-hours work when required.
- (For more experienced candidates) Lead on technical design decisions, mentor junior engineers, and take ownership of complex workstreams.

Your Skills

- Degree or equivalent practical experience in IT, Networking, Audio/Visual, Broadcast, or a related technical field.
- Practical experience in professional AV, broadcast or systems integration environments.
- Solid understanding of ICT networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, VLANs and basic firewall concepts.
- Familiarity with audio networking technologies such as Dante, AES67, ST2110 or similar protocols.
- Practical hands-on experience with hardware installation, cabling, commissioning and fault finding.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and management.
- Well-organised, detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working across multiple disciplines and willing to learn recent technologies.
- Able to manage priorities and adapt in a dynamic project environment
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally for project requirements.
- Experience with server and storage systems, and familiarity virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, XCP-ng), databases (SQL, MariaDB),



scripting and automation tools would be advantageous.
- Exposure to electronics, hardware repair and basic mechanical work would be advantageous.
- (For candidates with greater experience) Experience in solution architecture, system design, or leading complex technical projects will be highly regarded.
