ABOUT THE ROLE
As the NSW Conference Centre Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in the Member Engagement team, supporting the day-to-day operations of our Sydney conference centre. Reporting to the Conference Centre Manager, you’ll coordinate functions for both internal and external users, ensuring every event runs smoothly and every guest receives outstanding service. You’ll be responsible for room setups, catering, AV, and maintaining high standards of professionalism and safety at all times.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate function rooms and ensure stakeholder specifications are met for layout and onsite support
- Manage in-house facilities for events, including room setup, furniture, catering, and AV
- Oversee catering orders, setup, and clean-up, maintaining kitchen and storeroom upkeep
- Manage stock levels (crockery, disposables, non-perishable food)
- Assist with floor kitchen duties (coffee machines, milk, etc.)
- Ensure responsible practices for alcohol service and food safety
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Act as a key liaison for members, customers, and clients during events
- Gather customer feedback to drive continuous improvement
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in hospitality, functions, or events
- Exposure to a corporate work environment
- Proficient in computer systems and software (including MS Office)
- Skilled in setting up and troubleshooting audio-visual equipment
- Solid customer focus and ability to deliver with conflicting priorities
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Process improvement mindset and quality assurance skills
- Senior State/Territory high school certificate
- RSA (Responsible Serving of Alcohol) and Food Handling/Safety certificates
