About the Role
As a Mining Technician, you will provide responsive on-site hydraulic hose, fittings and fluid transfer services across both underground and surface mining environments. You will inspect, diagnose and repair hydraulic hose and fitting failures, providing practical and timely solutions to minimise equipment downtime. You will work safely and professionally at all times, following Pirtek and customer safety procedures, isolation requirements and site standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, replace and install hydraulic hose assemblies to the required specifications.
- Carry out planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on mining equipment.
- Inspect hose routing, condition, protection and installation for potential safety or reliability issues.
- Measure and identify hoses, fittings, adaptors and associated components.
- Test completed assemblies and confirm equipment is safe to return to service.
- Complete service reports, inspection records and other required site documentation.
- Maintain appropriate stock, tooling and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers and provide clear recommendations for follow-up work.
- Participate in overtime, shift work or an on-call roster where required.
Skills and Experience
- Hydraulic hose assembly, fitting, mechanical or mining maintenance experience.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and practical fault-finding ability.
- A safety-first approach to every task.
- Pride in producing high-quality, reliable work.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication, customer-service and record-keeping skills.
- A reliable, organised and solutions-focused attitude.
- Underground mining experience and relevant site competencies will be highly regarded.
- A current driver’s licence is required.
