Canterbury College is one of Queensland's leading Anglican ELC-12 schools, located in the rapidly growing corridor spanning Logan, the northern Gold Coast and southern Brisbane.

As we continue to shape a bold vision for the future, we are seeking an exceptional educational leader to join our Senior School Leadership Team in the newly created role of Assistant Head of Senior School (Years 10-12) .

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Senior School, the Assistant Head of Senior School (10-12) is a senior pastoral and educational leadership position responsible for shaping student culture, wellbeing, engagement, behaviour and personal growth across Years 10-12.

You will provide visible, values-driven leadership while fostering an environment where students are known, challenged and supported to achieve their best.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading pastoral care and wellbeing programs across Years 10-12
- Overseeing student behaviour, engagement and discipline systems
- Leading and supporting the Heads of House team
- Implementing the Character and Resilience Education program
- Identifying and supporting students at academic or wellbeing risk as they navigate academic pathways and support
- Building strong partnerships with students, families and staff
- Coordinating significant senior school events and rites of passage
- Supporting student leadership,



post-school pathways and successful transitions beyond school

The successful applicant will:

Be an experienced educational leader with a passion for student wellbeing, high expectations and the development of young people.

You will possess:

- Queensland College of Teachers registration
- Significant leadership experience within a secondary school environment
- Demonstrated success leading educational and/or pastoral care initiatives in a middle or senior leadership role (eg Head of Year, Head of House, Head of Faculty, or equivalent) in an independent school
- Strong experience managing complex student behaviour and engagement matters
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to lead teams, influence culture and drive continuous improvement
- A commitment to educational excellence and student growth
- Alignment with the values and Anglican ethos of Canterbury College

Postgraduate qualifications in education and/or leadership will be highly regarded.

Salary Range is between $165,000 - $170,000 + Superannuation.

The Founders of Canterbury College wanted to establish an independent school with strong Anglican convictions, which would provide a new choice for parents.

The College began teaching on Monday 2 February 1987 on its beautiful site overlooking the Logan River and had its official opening ceremony in September that year. Originally named The College of the Good Shepherd, it began with 73 students across Years 6, 7 and 8.

It has continued to grow into the beautiful campus with state-of-the-art facilities and student population of 1400 which stands now.
