About the Business
Our Quality team supports our Disability Services Directorate to deliver protected, high-quality and compliant services. They ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks such as the NDIS Practice Standards, oversee incident management and external reporting, monitor feedback and complaints, conduct audits and reviews, and promote best-practice service delivery that protects client safety, rights and wellbeing.
Role Details
Authorised Program Officer will:
- have the power to authorise Level 1 restrictive practices for clients and may endorse the use of Level 2 restrictive practices for the Senior Authorising Officer’s authorisation
- monitor,
analyse and review data of authorisations and provide reporting to management
- access and report accurate data into the South Australian Restrictive Practices ICT System (RPS)
- provide advice, information, and training to staff within DHS Disability Services regarding implementation of the restrictive practice authorisation scheme
- maintaining competency in all compliance requirements related to responsibilities
- fostering a culture of quality and safety to embed practice principles within DHS Disability Services
- monitoring and evaluating quality and safeguarding systems, practices, procedures, and prevention initiatives as part of the continuous improvement cycle.

Screening Checks
If you are new to the department and are invited to an interview, you will be required to produce a National Police Check, which has been issued within six months of your application for the role. National Police Checks can be applied for via the South Australia Police or through an Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission accredited body.
If the role you are applying for also requires an Employment-related Screening Check, you will be required to undergo such assessment as is advised by DHS, including periodic assessment during your employment.
