Role Overview

EML is a leading Workers Compensation and Personal Injury Claims Management business. The Claims Treatment Specialist, Pharmacy role in Sydney, Gosford or Newcastle will use your pharmacist expertise to provide advice on medication management, communicate with injured workers and doctors, and collaborate with prescribers to support safe and appropriate treatment.

The position will involve managing high‑risk medications, conducting medication reviews, reducing reliance on high‑risk drugs, and supporting holistic recovery outcomes. It is a full‑time, maximum‑term contract until 30 June 2027 with up to three days of work‑from‑home flexibility from month three.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement strategies to optimise medication and treatment management.
- Assess high‑risk medication use and provide clinical opinions on treatment strategies.
- Liaise with treatment providers to negotiate medication types, dosages, and utilisation.
- Educate injured workers, employers, and stakeholders on medication use and risks.
- Identify the need for and refer to external services such as Pharmacy Reviews or Independent Medical Examinations.
- Provide training and support to operational team members on medication management best practices.





Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience.
- Proven experience in clinical practice with high‑risk medications (pain management, opioids, medicinal cannabis).
- Knowledge of disability and injury management best practice.
- Understanding of the personal injury industry and workers’ compensation legislation is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
