Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Information Management
College of Engineering and Information Technology, School of Computer Science and Information Technology, Mawson Lakes Campus. Full‑time continuing position.
Salary Range: $140,127 – $161,145 (Level C) or $168,146 – $184,955 (Level D) per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
Role Overview
A senior academic leadership appointment that requires internationally recognised research, high‑quality teaching, professional engagement with the archives and records sector, and a meaningful contribution to the School's strategic direction. The successful candidate will anchor the School's information management curriculum, build a nationally and internationally recognised research profile, and carry significant postgraduate teaching responsibilities including HDR supervision.
Responsibilities
- Anchor the School’s information management curriculum.
- Deliver postgraduate teaching and HDR supervision.
- Engage professionally with government archives, cultural institutions, memory organisations, and industry bodies.
- Lead and participate in collaborative research projects, securing competitive research grant funding in areas such as library and information science, human information behaviour, public and academic libraries, cultural heritage institutions, and information management.
- Contribute to the development and planning of activities that support the School and University strategic priorities.
Qualifications – Senior Lecturer Level C
- A doctoral qualification in Library and Information Science or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated record of development and delivery of excellent teaching and learning experiences across various settings and student levels.
- Outstanding research track record with high‑quality outcomes within strict time and cost constraints, leader in at least one of the following areas: Archives, Records Management, Information Management foundations, Archives professional practice, digital preservation, or analogue preservation.
- Experience in postgraduate supervision with a history of successful completion of doctoral and master’s candidates.
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the school community.
- Experience with cross‑disciplinary engagement and participation in competitive grants (desirable).
Qualifications – Associate Professor Level D
- All Level C essential criteria.
- Success at creating and leading a high‑performing research team with significant collaboration with international stakeholders.
- Demonstrated academic leadership, including contributions to the development and planning of activities that support strategic priorities and support staff to encourage professionalism, innovation and a culture of teaching and learning and research excellence.
