Cat Napping is an independently owned luxury cattery with over 15 years of experience caring for Melbourne's cats. We are looking for a Casual Cattery & Office Attendant to join our team and support the day-to-day running of our busy cattery.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards, thrives in a fast-paced workplace, and genuinely enjoys providing outstanding care to both cats and their owners.
Please note: This role is much more than cuddling cats. It involves cleaning, attention to detail, following procedures, working efficiently, and ensuring every cat receives the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and support a customer-focused culture.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the cattery.
- Work efficiently while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Follow procedures accurately and consistently.
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Feeding cats according to their individual requirements.
- Administering medication when required.
- Cleaning cat accommodation and general cattery areas.
- Providing enrichment and monitoring cat wellbeing.
- Assisting with light administration duties.
- Communicating professionally with clients and team members.
Who We're Looking For
- Someone who notices the little details and takes pride in doing things properly.
- Excellent communication, organisational and computer skills.
- Able to work independently and use initiative once trained.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in warmer and colder environments.
- Knowledge of cat health, breeds and behaviour.
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport.
- Willingness to work at our Coburg cattery when required.
- Previous experience in a cattery, kennel or veterinary clinic is highly regarded.
Availability Requirements
This role involves a mixture of morning shifts (9am–1pm) and afternoon shifts (3pm–6pm) across a 7-day rotating roster.
Average hours are 4–10 hours per week initially, with the opportunity to increase to 10–20 hours in the future.
As we operate 365 days a year, successful applicants must be available to work weekends, public holidays and peak holiday periods.
Full training will be provided.
