Yes Interiors Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Ceiling Fixer / Wall and Ceiling Fixer to join our team. The successful candidate will undertake wall and ceiling installation and finishing work across residential and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, mark and cut plasterboard and other lining materials to required dimensions;
- Install and secure plasterboard to walls, ceilings, frames and battens;
- Install suspended ceiling systems and associated ceiling components;
- Determine plasterboard layouts and assist with the installation of insulation and other lining materials;
- Install cornices, corner beads, trims and other plaster fittings;
- Prepare and finish plasterboard joints, screw holes and fixing points using jointing compounds and tapes;
- Plumb, level and straighten wall and ceiling surfaces, corners and angles;
- Install acoustic, insulating and fire-rated wall and ceiling systems where required;
- Repair and replace damaged plasterboard, ceilings and wall linings;
- Read and interpret plans,
drawings and job specifications to complete work accurately;
- Ensure completed work meets required quality and finish standards; and
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant trade qualification in wall and ceiling fixing/plastering, or at least one-year of relevant work experience;
- Previous experience in ceiling fixing, plasterboard installation and finishing;
- Ability to read plans, measure accurately and work independently;
- Sound knowledge of relevant tools, materials and installation techniques;
- Valuable attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team; and
- Current driver's licence preferred.
