North Eastern Community Hospital

Campbelltown

Two days a week. One education portfolio. Yours to build.

Most Clinical Nurse Educator roles hand you an inherited program and ask you to maintain it. This one is different.

North Eastern Community Hospital is a community-owned, not-for-profit hospital co-located with an 84-bed residential aged care home. We're growing - two theatres, two gastroenterology suites, an expanding medical and surgical ward - and we've reached the point where education needs a dedicated leader rather than a shared responsibility.

You'd be that person. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, with the scope to shape how education works across the whole organisation and the executive backing to make it stick.

Why 0.4 FTE is the point, not a compromise

We've deliberately structured this as a two-day role because we'd rather have an outstanding educator for two days providing the flexibility for the right person.

It suits you if you're:

- A senior Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse who values keeping their skills contemporary whilst enhancing their skills and enjoyment for educating

- Stepping back from a full-time leadership role without stepping away from one of the most important aspects of the nursing profession

- Combining this with sessional teaching, consulting or study

- The need for flexibility as competing priorities impact the working week.

What you'd actually do in year one

We've scoped this honestly. In your first twelve months, the priorities are:

1. Orientation and onboarding - a consistent, well-run program for new hospital and aged care staff, so our staff feel supported in commencing their roles

2. Transition to Professional Practice Program - lead our TPPP and make it the reason early-career nurses choose NECH

3.

Mandatory training and competency - a system that tracks itself, so compliance stops being a scramble before accreditation whilst giving our teams the right training to support their roles

4. Partner with Clinical Managers to address professional development and performance gaps leaning into our culture of continuous improvement.

Beyond that: student placement coordination, targeted education where clinical risk shows up, and the education components of accreditation and quality improvement.

What you'll bring

Essential

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

- At least three years' post-registration clinical experience

- Real experience designing and delivering clinical education

- The credibility to coach experienced clinicians and the patience to coach new ones

- Comfort working across acute and aged care settings

- Thriving in an environment with collaboration and leadership.

Nice to have, not dealbreakers

- Postgraduate qualifications in nursing education

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

- Experience with TPPP, student placements or accreditation

- Familiarity with learning management systems.

If you meet most of the essentials and the role interests you, apply. We'd rather assess a good candidate than lose one to a checklist.

A National Police Check,

Working With Children Check and current vaccination compliance are required before you start.

What we offer

- Salary packaging benefits (up to $30,000 FBT cap).

- Flexible part-time arrangements to support work/life balance.

- A collaborative, values-driven culture.

- Ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities.

- Employee wellbeing and recognition programs.

- Free, secure in office parking.

- Stable employment under safe and fair conditions.
